  • Disney Dream: Great for grownups too!

We went on the Disney Dream for our honeymoon, and went without our son. We had been on the Disney Dream before WITH our little guy and loved it, so we decided to go again. The service is excellent, the cabins are clean and the entertainment is what you would expect from Disney: magical.

We spent a lot of time on the adults only deck, enjoying the comfy couches in the sun; reading, sleeping, eating, repeat. We loved the peace and quiet of the adults only deck, and loved that there was never a line at the bar.

When we stopped at Disney’s private island, we waved goodbye to all of the families hauling their kids and strollers and beach toys and diaper bags off to the family beaches as we drove off to Serenity Bay. Serenity Bay is the adult’s only part of Castaway Cay, and it was the definition of paradise. Crystal clear waters, loungers as far as the eye could see, big sun umbrellas for shade, and not a screaming kid for miles. Again, we ate and read and slept and woke up and slept and ate and read some more. Heaven for two exhausted parents!

There are plenty of bars and spots on board that adults can relax in to get away from the kids and not feel bombarded with Mickey and his pals. The night clubs weren’t that busy, probably because the majority of adults on board were back in their state rooms with their sleeping kids by 10 or 11. There were plenty of comedy shows, trivia competitions and dance parties for grown ups to enjoy, and we enjoyed all of them!

Don’t disregard a Disney cruise just because you’re not traveling with kids. Disney carries its reputation for superb customer service onto the Disney Dream, and it’s a great cruise for everyone!
